Amanda’s senior pictures

Another great evening was spent capturing Amanda’s senior pictures. We started at Wintergreen Gorge and took a few nice images, including this shot:

We traveled to downtown Erie and went to one of my favorite locations for a nice image among the bricks:

We headed to the bayfront for some sunny shots, including this image among the posts and birds:

We finished at the beach with this great shot:

Great images, Amanda! There are many more coming in your proofs!

Erie Senior Pictures: Abby

Abby had some specific ideas about her senior pictures. Starting in North East at the railroad museum, we captured some great outdoor images. We headed to the beach and other locations for more senior portraits, hit the zoo for some great “giraffe selfies” and finished indoors after dark.

Abby is a culinary student and plans to study the culinary arts in college. Great senior pictures, Abby!

Erie Weddings: Kristen and Michael

Kristen and Michael had a wonderful wedding on New Year’s Eve. The weather was reasonably cooperative, allowing us to capture some very nice indoor and outdoor images.
What a lovely wedding. The reception was a hoot, complete with a band, DJ, party favors and a live broadcast of the ball in Times Square!

Congratulations Kristen and Michael! Best of luck to you both!

Senior Pictures in Erie: Michael

Michael and his family came up from Titusville this weekend to work with us. We started indoors and captured some great images under natural and studio light:
Then we headed outdoors and chose a few favorite locations. Michael’s sister was a senior of mine a couple of years ago, so the family had some ideas of places and images they wanted to see.
Of course, we headed to my favorite wall:
And we headed to the beach for a few shots.

Great images, Michael! It was a pleasure working with you and your family!

Senior Photography in Erie: Victoria

Once again we sweated the weather, but Erie’s amazing summers came through. Victoria started in the studio
with several nice outfits. We had a generous musician help us with this great piano image:
Above is another nice image from indoors. And below, we have a couple of images from Victoria’s beach session:
Lovely images, Victoria!

Erie Save an Eye Game

Friday was the setting for the Save an Eye game – a match pitting the Erie city all stars against their peers in the county.
I was asked again this year and accepted the role of staff photographer, taking images for the program book (which looked great!) and as the exclusive photographer of the game itself.
A wonderful weather night and great play by both teams made for an exciting game through the last seconds.
Here are some images. There are hundreds more on my website in this gallery. Note that image downloads from the gallery are free! Prints may be purchased as well.

Senior Portraits in Erie: Jeff’s Session

Tonight we focused on Jeff.
Starting in studio, we captured some great images using our white “high key”, black low key, and some of our other backgrounds. Here’s an example of a high key image:
Following the indoor session, we tried a few interesting locations, including this one in bright daylight. Balancing the available light with some reflected light, we captured this image:
At yet another location, we captured this image, which we converted to black and white:
Jeff, you have some great images. We’ll see more soon as we proof your whole portfolio.

Erie Senior Portraits: Brad

Sunday November 28th was a perfect day for outdoor portraits.  The sun was out, the temperature was in the low 40’s, and the wind was low.
Brad wanted to start at his home with some outdoor images.  We had a bit of snow on the ground, as well as leaves and some nice trees.
Following the outdoor session, we captured some great indoor images, and finished with some great late-afternoon images with some unique graffiti paintings.

Great images, Brad!

Erie Save an Eye Game: Media Day

Tonight I once again had the honor to take the media day photos of the City and County teams for the Save-an-Eye game.  It was hot, but the players suited up and we took photos of the teams and the school groups for the program book.
Save-an-eye is a summer sports event organized by the Erie Lions Club.  It has been an annual football event since 1939.  The funds raised provide free eye care to low income children.
Here’s a couple of the group photos of the City and County teams.  Now, the teams go into 2 weeks of practice and then the big game is on Friday July 23rd at Veteran’s Stadium at 26th and French Streets.  Make plans to be there – it benefits a great cause!
As was the case last year, I’ll be the official photographer for this event, meaning I’m the only one allowed and authorized to sell images from this game.
